Enertex® KNX SmartMeter² 85A
Available from: 2026-09-15
The Enertex® KNX SmartMeter² is a bidirectional energy meter with an integrated energy management module. The device is mounted on a DIN rail (4-module width) and measures currents up to 85 A via current transformers. The supplied split-core current transformers allow easy installation. Measurements can be performed either in a three-phase system or in three independent single-phase systems and are suitable for all common grid types (TN, TT, and IT).
Active energy is captured with the high precision and a maximum total measurement error of only 1%. This is made possible by high-quality current transformers of class 0.5 and precise, calibrated data acquisition within the device itself, which also meets accuracy class 0.5. The active power measurement range is 1.2 W to 58 kW.
The device has a display that shows important measured values, meter readings and parameters. Active power, voltage, phase sequence direction and power factor enable a quick plausibility check after installation, helping to avoid typical wiring errors. In addition, the display shows month-end readings for the last 12 months and year-end readings for the last 12 years, making these values easy to trace at any time.
The SmartMeter is powered entirely via the bus and impresses with particularly economical operation, requiring only 0.6 W in normal operation.
In addition to energy metering, the device provides measured values that enable analysis and assessment of power quality. The measured values for voltage, frequency, THD for current and voltage, neutral current, power factor, and load imbalance are provided on the bus and can be visualized. Based on this data, individual loads can also be monitored in a targeted manner, and defects or irregularities can be detected at an early stage.
The integrated energy management module offers an innovative and at the same time very simple way to reduce energy costs when using self-generation (e.g. PV) or flexible electricity tariffs. Intelligent load management switches consumers automatically in the event of energy surplus or low electricity prices. Switching is based on freely definable threshold values for active power, electricity price or other communication objects. The module is ideally suited for controlling wallboxes for electric vehicles, heat pumps, heating elements/infrared heaters, battery storage systems and other household appliances. For each load, parameters such as priority, minimum run time, dead time, releases per day and blocking objects can be set. For controlling the loads, in addition to the data types switching, percentage values, power, current and temperature setpoints, new KNX data types for controlling heat pumps or heating systems (DHW mode, DPT 20.XXX) are also available. Thanks to the intuitive and clear user interface, setting up energy management has never been so easy.
The new Enertex® KNX SmartMeter² combines highly precise energy measurement, easy commissioning and user-friendly energy management in a single device.
